What do employers look for?

back to main site

Employer Interview

Nothing complicated here and regardless of qualifications most people should be able to deliver the following:

  • Willingness to work.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Reliability.
  • Drive and desire to achieve.
  • Enthusiasm.
  • Punctuality.
  • Positive attitude.

Qualifications

Generally, an employer will look for 3 GCSE’s preferably at grade C or above in Maths, English and a Science/Technical subject for technical roles. For Sales, Parts, Admin. and Accounts the requirements are generally Maths and English along with an IT qualification.

All is not lost if you don’t have these grades as in some cases they can be covered during your apprenticeship but it does make life much easier for you if you achieve them at school.
